Insider membership has its benefits for ydr subscribers

Some years ago, Jack Geesey submitted a photo of a Yorktowne Hotel membership card to the York Daily Record’s online photo gallery with a note.

The Mugs Club was designed to further the sense of community in and around the hotel several decades ago. When a patron, such as John Geesey, came in, he could show his number, the mug was retrieved and filled with a beverage.

Starting Tuesday, the York Daily Record is offering a 21st century, digital version of the Mug Club. Tip for cleaning lady Instead of a card, subscribers to the YDR just type in their name and the password that comes with their subscription.

I don’t know if Mugs Club members received discounts on their drinks, but Insiders will have access to local and national deals: Disney World and movie ticket discounts.
