Be it known that I, ALFRED A. Poured concrete house walls BIELEN- BERG, citizen of the United States, residing at Elgin, in the county of Kane and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Form or Mold for Concrete Roof for a Silo, of which the fol lowing is a specification.

My present invention has relation to the production of a form or mold for casting a concrete roof for a silo.


The general practice is to construct $1108 in cylindrical form, and the provision of a’ roof for a structure of such a form involvesthe solution of problems which results in the roof being by far the most difiicult portion of the structure.

The objects of my invention are, first, to provide a form or mold for molding or casting a silo roof from concrete which form or mold may be substantially removed after the concrete has set and hardened, and which may be used repeatedly in the casting of other roofs; second, to so construct such a form or mold that it will accommodate itself to variations in dimensions which occur in the construction of the silo walls; and, third, the provision of such a form or mold which will secure a silo roof of maximum strength for the volume and weight of concrete used.

The mold or form structure is held in position with relation to the Walls of the silo by means of the straps, 1, which extend over the top of the silo wall, designated by the numeral 2, and down and adjacent both the outside and inside thereof. The straps, 1, are spaced about the silo wall opposite and to correspond with the angle iron brackets upon the cylindrical member, 9, and extending between the angle iron brackets upon the straps, 1, and the cylindrical member, 9, with their upper ends entering the channel, 10, are pieces of angle iron, 12, the angle iron bracket serving to locate these pieces in proper position. After the concrete has been put into the mold and has set and hardened sufl’iciently,

the angle iron brackets, 8, the angle irons, 12, and the convex floor sections, 13, may be removed by removing the nuts from the bolts 7 and 11, and may be employed in the molding or casting of other roofs.

Having described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is l. Precast concrete panels residential homes A form for a silo roof comprising straps adapted to extend over and down upon the sides of a silo wall, a central cylindrical member, a channel circumferentially disposed upon the same, brackets for the inner end of said straps, corresponding brackets upon said central member, angle pieces extending between said corresponding brackets and convex pieces extending radially between said straps and said central members and having their lateral edges in the angles of said angle pieces.

2. Pouring a concrete wall A form for a silo roof comprising wall straps, a central member, brackets upon said straps and corresponding brackets upon said central member, angle irons extending radially between said brackets and convex radially extending pieces having their lateral edges in the angles of said irons.

3. Precast retaining wall cost A form for a silo roof comprising wall straps, a central member, removable brackets upon said straps and corresponding removable brackets upon said central member, angle irons extending radially between said braokets and convex radially extending pieces having their lateral edges in the angles of said irons.

4. Pouring concrete basement floor cost A form or mold for a silo roof comprising straps for engaging the silo walls, a central member, detachable brackets upon said straps and said central member, angle irons extending between said detachable brackets, and fioor members having their lateral edges in the angle of said angle irons.

5. Insulated concrete forms basement walls A form or mold for a silo roof comprising straps for engaging the silo walls, a cen tral member, detachable brackets upon said wall brackets and said central member, and floor members extending between said detachable brackets.
